• A Year Planner with all the Lectionary readings for 2012 will be displayed outside the vestry.

• There is an invitation from St Aidan’s Church to attend a series of lectures on the Scottish Reformation by Rev. Dr. Ian Meredith on 6th February at 7.30pm.
Details are on the noticeboard.

• Eastwood Parish Church, 1 Mansewood Road, invite you to the launch of The Point on Monday 6th February between 11am and 2pm.
The Point will provide lunch and friendship, household goods and clothing, and community resources.
Volunteer help would be appreciated on a Monday.

• “Songs of Longing”-a day of prayer with some music and songs will be held in the Ignatian Spirituality Centre, 35 Scott Street, on Saturday February 11th from 10.30am till 4pm. Come and enjoy this special day.

• A “Taster Retreat” is being held from Friday March 23rd till Sunday March 25th in the Conforti Centre Coatbridge. This weekend is an ideal opportunity in the midst of Lent to prepare for Easter.

• This year we will be again giving you the chance to “Count Your Blessings” during Lent. The leaflets explaining the ideas of praying and giving during lent will be distributed on Sunday 19th February in time for the start of Lent, Wednesday 22nd February. If you would like a leaflet before that, please see David Christie.

• We welcome Rev. Catherine Beattie of Giffnock South Church who will lead our worship today.
Our minister is leading worship in Giffnock South Church.
The four Giffnock churches are participating in pulpit exchanges as part of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.

• 2 events for Holocaust Memorial Day at the St Mungo museum Function Room. Both free no booking required.
There will be a ‘World Cafe’ from 1-4pm this afternoon, 22nd January. This event aims to facilitate cross cultural dialogue and will be followed by a screening of ‘As seen through these eyes.
On 26th January from 6-9pm the film ‘Divided we fall’ will be shown followed by discussion.

• You are invited to a Burns Supper in Park Church on Saturday 4th February at 7pm for 7.30pm with the cost being £12.

• The West Link Pastoral Group present “Dynamic Worship” an event for anyone interested in exploring different types of worship.
This will be held in Morison Memorial URC Clydebank on Saturday 4th February from 10am till 4pm

Our worship leader will be the Rev. Catherine Beattie of Giffnock South Church, which is where our minister will be preaching.

Our services from Sunday 1st January till the end of February at least, will be held in the small hall as agreed at our church meeting.

Ministry to the Church Group will meet tomorrow Monday 16th January at 7pm in the lounge.

Our minister, Lesley Moseley, will lead our worship today.
Today our choir will sing their Christmas music.
As it is the fourth Sunday in Advent we will light the fourth of our Advent candles.

Following donations made in the retiral collection at Jack Dyce’s funeral, £200 was sent to Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland and £200 to RNLI.

Eastwood Choral with Happy Voices and ER Schools’ Senior Brass Quintet present their Christmas Concert tonight at 7pm in The Park Church.

Margaret Mackay would like to wish everyone a Happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year.

You are invited to our Christmas Eve Watchnight service at 11.15pm on Saturday 24th December. Bring along your friends and neighbours.

Our Christmas Day service next Sunday will begin at 10.30am.

On a Wednesday we have our weekly lunchtime service at 11.30am.
There will be no lunchtime service on Wednesday 28th December.

On Monday we welcomed pupils form Braidbar School who visited our church as part of their Religious Education programme.
The children thoroughly enjoyed their visit and we are grateful to the members of the Ministry to the Church and Ministry to the World groups for all their hard work in connection with the visit.

The Saturday Sales are closed now till Saturday 14th January. Thanks to the team for all their hard work and to those who faithfully support on a Saturday morning.

Thanks to the carol singers who filled Morrison’s with angelic music yesterday! All money raised will go to Christian Aid.

Today there is a container in which you are invited to deposit warm clothing and dried goods, which will be taken to the Loaves and Fishes charity.

The Community Council has commissioned a statue, which they hope will be an iconic symbol for Giffnock. It will be situated outside Wholefoods and will be unveiled on Wednesday 30th November at 12 noon. It is hoped that different local church and community groups will be represented at the unveiling. • Our church officer will be on holiday for a week from 22nd October. Please note that the building will only be open when there are groups using the premises.
