We are grateful to Roy Henderson for organising today’s “Songs of Praise” service.

Chancel. Articles for the 3rd October issue should be given to Douglas Macfarlane no later than Sunday 19th September.

The AGM of the Women’s Union will be held in Dunfermline URC, Canmore Street on Thursday 2nd September at 1.30pm. The speaker is Carolyne Smyth.

You are invited to St. Aidan’s Church in Clarkston tonight at 6.30pm for their Patronal Festival Evensong. The preacher is the Rev. Bryan Owen

You are invited to join us for the Wednesday lunchtime service at 11.30am.
Bring your own piece (tea and coffee provided) and enjoy company and a chat after the service.

The Bible Study Group will meet on Wednesday 1st September at 7.30pm

The choir will be organizing a coffee morning on Saturday 4th September from 10am till noon.

Christian Aid are holding a book sale outside Morrison’s in Fenwick Road on Saturday 4th September from 10am till 1pm.
Donations of book are welcome.

We have been displaying a poster for several weeks advertising
“The World is coming to the West” This is a West Link event, taking place in Oakshaw Trinity Church, Paisley on Tuesday 14th September at 7p.m. Rev. John Sanderson and Rev. David Walton will tell of their trips to Guyana and India and there will be an opportunity to sample food and drink from these countries.
If you would like to go, then put your name on the list on the West Link notice board, and say if you require transport.

A date for your diary
Shawlands URC are hosting a Community Forum on 20th September at 7.30pm with the subject being “Is a review of capital punishment needed in the UK?”

Contact your deacon in the first instance if pastoral care is required during Lesley’s holiday.

Thanks to all those who helped with the cleaning of the church while the Church Officer was on holiday. Thanks to Chris McEwan for organizing this.

Thanks to all the members who came to the Church Meeting/Coffee Morning on Saturday and took part in the discussion about the way Forward.

If you would like to help with teas during the summer months, please put your name on the list outside the vestry.

Park Church are having an Auction on Friday 13th August.
Entry by catalogue is £1. Viewing from 5pm.
Auction starts at 7p.m.

Get ready early for Christmas! Shoebox packing alert!!
In order to get the shoeboxes sent away in time for Christmas, we plan to pack shoeboxes late afternoon on Saturday 23rd October.
Now is the time to start collecting empty shoeboxes, and gathering up bits and pieces for the shoeboxes from the summer sales!
Why not knit a simple scarf? (Ask about a pattern)
