Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

We welcome the Rev Lynsey Sanderson who is leading part of our worship service today with our Ministry in the Church team. Our minister is attending the National Assembly at Loughborough.

You are invited to join us for the lunchtime service every Wednesday at 11.30am. Bring your own piece (tea and coffee provided) and enjoy company and a chat after the service.

The Bible Study Group will meet on Wednesday 7th July at 7.30pm

Over £1100 has been raised for the Prince and Princess of Wales hospice as a result of the collection at Sarah Brown’s funeral and at our retiring offering last Sunday. Donations are still welcomed.

Garden Parties
If the date you have been given does not suit, please see Alison to arrange a different date.

Church Outing
Our Church Outing to Helensburgh, Luss and Lomond Shores will take place on Thursday 29th July. The cost of £17.50 will include transport, lunch and a two-course meal.
Places are filling up fast. Put your name on the list opposite the vestry or ask Mike Williams for further details.

Date for your Diary
As arranged at last Sunday’s church meeting, a discussion for members will take place on Saturday 7th August to look at the points raised during the recent Review and see how we as a church can move forward.
Tea and coffee will be served.
We would encourage as many people as are able to attend.

Christian Aid Prayer for the Week
This week please pray for all children, Israeli and Palestinian, who have been injured in recent conflict.

Deacons are reminded of their meeting on Wednesday 30th June at 7pm for prayer and 7.30pm for the meeting.

Summer coffee morning dates for your diary:
Saturday 3rd July hosted by the Women’s’ Guild. There will be a Bring and Buy Stall.

Church Outing
As discussed at the church meeting, we propose to have a church outing to Helensburgh and Loch Lomond to include lunch and evening meal.
The likely date is Thursday 29th July.
Please add your name to the list on the noticeboard to show your interest in this event. It will be a really enjoyable day!

Glasgow the Welcoming City, a celebration of 1600 years of Christian faith through music and drama.

There will be a joint evening service at Shawlands URC at 6.30pm tonight.

You are invited to a meeting on Tuesday 15th June at Priesthill URC at 7pm when the discussion on the Way Forward for the Southside churches will be continued.

The Church Flower Group are looking for someone to join the team. Please `phone Nan Steele on 639-7222 if you think you can help, or speak to the minister or any of the other group members for further details.

Cathcart M.E. Support Group
Dr. Abhijit Chaudhuri, a leading UK specialist, will speak at a meeting in Cathcart Trinity Church, 90 Clarkston Road. on 24th June at 7pm (doors open at 6.30pm).
There will be a collection for ME research.

Barrhead URC
We are invited to a ceiidh organised by Barrhead URC on Saturday 26th June from 7.30 till 11pm. in St John’s RC Church, Barrhead
The cost is £5 and covers entertainment. Bring your own bottle.
