Thursday, May 28th, 2009Our minister and some of our members are attending Shawlands URC’s 100 birthday celebrations today. We have sent a card and the greetings of our church members to our friends in Shawlands.
During the summer months people are encouraged to come to the midweek service on Wednesdays at 11.30am. After the service, tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided. Bring your own piece if you like! Enjoy the fellowship when so many other activities are finished for the summer.
ACTS of Eastwood Pentecost Praise Service will be held in St. Joseph’s Church Clarkston tonight at 7.30pm.
Lesley is giving the address and the young peoples’ musical group from St.Joseph’s will be leading the praise so it should be an enjoyable celebration. Anyone requiring a lift please speak to Maureen Stewart.
Erskine. The Women’s Guild are hosting a Coffee Evening on behalf of Erskine Hospital on Thursday 4th June at 7pm. A special invitation is extended to everyone. Tickets price £2 from Margaret Campbell or Margaret Downie.
Remember to keep Sunday 7th June free at 6pm so we can share in a joint service at Shawlands URC. Details will be given shortly.

We have been invited to a pastoral consultation meeting in Shawlands URC on 24th June at 7.30pm (to be confirmed) and led by Rev John Humphreys. This is to discuss the future of ministry in the south side of Glasgow, and is a very important meeting which could have far-reaching consequences for the churches. You are urged to attend if at all possible.
Christian Aid Prayer for the week. During this World Week for Peace in Palestine and Israel, please pray for the people of Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories, for our Israeli and Palestinian partner organisations, and for hope in this troubled area of the world.
